Introduction about IoT and Raspberry pi

Definition of IoT:

The internet of Things, or “IoT” for short, is about extending the power of the internet beyond computers and smartphones to a whole range of other things, processes, and environments. Those “connected” things are used to gather information, send information back, or both.

Why it matters?

IoT provides businesses and people better insight into and control over the 99 percent of objects and environments that remain beyond the reach of the internet. And by doing so, IoT allows businesses and people to be more connected to the world around them and to do more meaningful, higher-level work.

Raspberry pi:

It is a small device or in another-way we can called this a small computer also.

Till date there are Four generation of Raspberry pi:

  1. Raspberry pi
  2. Raspberry pi 2
  3. Raspberry pi 3
  4. Raspberry pi 4

The first generation model Raspberry pi comes in the month of February 2012 with a moble name B.

In each generation there are always two model i.e A and B. A model is always simpler and cheaper model than B.

In the above figure we all can see that :

  • 4 USB slots
  • 1 Ethernet slot
  • 1 aux slot
  • 1 charging slot(regular usb type)
  • 1 card slot behind it
  • 2 hdmi slot
  • and other

Mainly we use to types of OS in this:

  1. Raspbian
  2. NOOBS

We can also use other Linux OS in Raspberry pi
