What is Artificial Intelligence ?
- AI is an umbrella term representing a range of techniques that allow machines to mimic human intelligence.
- When humans think, they sense what’s happening in their environment, realize what those inputs mean, make a decision based on them, and then act. AI devices are in the early stages of beginning to replicate these same behaviors.
AI systems will typically demonstrate at least some of the following behaviours associated with human intelligence:
What are different types of AI?
|Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)||Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)||Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)|
|Is the AI that exists in our world today||Is the sort of AI that we see in movies like “Her” or other sci-fi movies||Is the type of AI that many people are worried about|
|Is programmed to perform a single task||Can successfully perform any intellectual task that a human being can||Machines will be capable of exhibiting intelligence that we haven’t seen in the brightest amongst us|
|Unlike Humans,Can only learn or be taught how to do specific tasks||Is the type of adaptable intellect found in humans, a flexible form of intelligence capable of learning how to carry out vastly different tasks||Will surpass human intelligence in all aspects from creativity, general wisdom, to problem-solving|
History of AI :
Artificial Intelligence VS Machine Learning :
|Artificial Intelligence||Machine Learning|
|Is a technology using which we can create intelligent systems that can simulate human intelligence.||Is a subset of AI, which enables machines to learn from past data or experiences without being explicitly programmed.|
|It's Goal is to make a smart computer system like humans to solve complex problems.||It's Goal is to allow machines to learn from data so that they can give accurate output.|
|Has a very wide range of scope||Has a limited scope.|
|Deals with Structured, Semi-Structured & Unstructured Data||Deals with Structured & Semi-Structured|
What is an AI assistant?
An AI assistant is a program that can responds to you, provides information, and performs tasks at your request. While these assistants are most commonly thought of in terms of smartphones and smart home speakers, they can exist in a range of devices and will become common in XR glasses, home appliances, connected cars, and more.
What is mobile AI?
Mobile AI refers to on-device AI, in smartphones specifically, with more than 1.5 billion smartphones shipping every year, smartphones are the most pervasive mobile AI platform.
Future of Artificial Intelligence!
The future of AI involves advanced cognitive systems capable of doing what machine learning systems can’t.They will intelligently and fluently interact with human experts, providing them with articulate explanations and answers, even at the edge of the network or in robotic devices.
Across the board, people will see and work with systems endowed with rare and valuable intelligence.
Cognitive artificial intelligence – truly intelligent symbolic AI software with bio-inspired, human-like reasoning – will take automation technologies to the next level and enable enterprises to fully utilize their investments in advanced technology. Using cognitive AI, robots can work together to not only analyze time-sensitive data at the point of origin, but also diagnose and solve problems in real-time.
Like any other technology, AI is a double-edged sword. According to futurist Ray Kurzweil, if the technological singularity happens, then there won’t be a machine takeover. Instead, we’ll be able to co-exist with AI in a world where machines reinforce human abilities.
Though we’re years away from ASI, researchers predict that the leap from AGI to ASI will be a short one. No one really knows when the first sentient computer life form is going to arrive. But as ANI gets increasingly sophisticated and capable, we can begin to envision a future that is driven by both machines and humans; one in which we are much more intelligent, conscious, and self-aware.
